Terms of Service

The agreement for using Native Update.

Last updated October 30, 2026.

The service

Native Update is a hosted service (dashboard, API and CLI) and the native-update plugin your app installs. These terms are between you and the Native Update team.

Your account

You sign in with Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account, its API keys and its access tokens. Keep private signing keys and tokens out of public places.

What live updates can change

Live updates carry web-layer changes: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and web assets. Native code, plugins and permissions ship through the app stores, and you follow each store’s rules for your app.

Plans and limits

Each plan sets limits on apps and monthly active users; the pricing page lists them. Over a limit, new uploads and promotions pause and we tell you on the dashboard and by email. Seven days after that, update delivery pauses until you upgrade or get back under the limit. Nothing is deleted.

Payments

Card payments are taken by Polar, the reseller and merchant of record. Subscriptions renew each period until you cancel. When you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for and does not renew.

All purchases are final

Every purchase is final: plans, seats and Support payments are not refunded, returned or exchanged. If a bank or Polar reverses a payment (a chargeback or a refund the law or the merchant of record requires), the plan time that payment covered ends.

The assistants

The release-notes writer and the docs assistant send the text you give them to an AI provider to produce a draft or an answer. Drafts are suggestions: you review them before you publish anything. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of assistant requests.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Native Update to ship malware, to get around a store’s review of native changes, or to load anything you don’t have the right to distribute. We can suspend an account that does, and we tell you why.

The plugin licence

From version 4.1.2 the native-update plugin is licensed under the Native Update License: free to install and use with a Native Update account, not to be redistributed. Earlier versions keep the licence they were released under.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the service running and your bundles safe, and we don’t promise it will never be down. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We post changes here with a new date. Material changes are emailed to account owners before they apply.
